Currently we disable garbage collection on the Parsoid cluster. There were originally gc bugs ({T228346}) but there were also some performance improvements obtained by turning off gc. We need to re-enable garbage collection (and fix any performance regressions) before we can use Parsoid directly on the main mediawiki cluster.
