Per {T158225}, the ORES extensions should be able to be configured such that:
- It it does not add a beta feature-- ORES is on by default. Here are descriptions of the impacts this change will have on the RC Page itself and on the RC Page Preferences tab.
==How to handle ORES features on RC Page
%%%
- The "Hide probably bad edits" filter is available to everyone, regardless of preference, though it is implemented in a new way on RC page and has a new name (see below)**"r" flags for "needs review"** These are the little R that ORES shows for edits with damaging scores above a certain threshold.
- The "r" flags on RC are visible to everyone - Because ORES is on by default, the "r" will now display for everyone on RC page.
- HOWEVER, the ORES Sensitivity controls that determine what edits get the "r" will be relocated to Watchlist, as defined in T160474
- Highlighting rows based on damaging-ness--aka "Classic ORES"— IS NOT AVAILABLE TO RC PAGE USERS. On Watchlist, it is put behind a new preference (see T160475). - AND the ORES Sensitivity thresholds will be conformed to the ERI ORES levels (T160474)
==RC Page Preferences that need to be handled- **Automatic shading of rows based on their damaging score--aka "Classic ORES"**
- This function is not available to RC Page users. Period. This is true whether or not users have opted in to the beta.
!![Watchlist preferences that need attention are now defined in - (On Watchlist, shading is now controlled by a new preference (see T160475]!!).
==Changes relating to the RC Preferences tab
%%%
- **Hide probably good edits from recent changes** This Recent Changes option currently appears only after users have selected the ORES beta, and is unselected by default.
- It will now become a standard offering for everyone--though it is still UNSELECTED by default,The control for this option disappears entirely from the RC page. Users who still get this function on RC Page (see below) will get it through a control on Watchlist Preferences. (T160474)
- Meanwhile, re-word the preference to align it with the new functionality, like so: "Show only edits that may have problems (and hide probably good edits)." Users who have __opted in__ to the New Filters beta will not get this function.
- This option will have two modes: #1) with RC filters and #2) without.
- Mode #1, For existing (migrated) ORES users new RC Filters beta users who select this option, then on the RC page,Users who __do not have__ the New Filters beta will get this function more or less how it works now. activate the following filter and display it as a default in the Active Filter Display Area: May have problems.
- Mode #2, Without RC Filters: If the user does not have the RC Filters beta, then this option will work more or less how it used to. HOWEVER, if it's not too much trouble, I'd make it consistent with the functionality above, in the sense that it would be nice if we can reset whatever the threshold was so that it now matches the "May have problems" filter.HOWEVER, Ifnote that's not easy to dot the function thresholds will be conformed to the ERI ORES levels, then just make it do whatever it did before. as defined in T160474
- **Ores Sensitivity** Remove this preferencecontrol from the RC Page preferences, since it conflicts with the new interface. (T160475 defines how this will be handled for Watchlist).
