This task will track the racking and wiring of 5 additional shelves to the furud storage array.
Please use the following checklist:
[] - (re)connect the existing two arrays, ensuring furud can see the disks and the data on them in the OS.
[x] - receive in the 5 shelves via T184625. This includes 4 2M and 1 14M SAS cable.
[x] - rack the new arrays in the spots listed below. Dell advises only attaching half of the arrays to port 1 (so array1-4) and array5-7 to port2 of furud's external raid controller:
* array3 in U16/17, connected to array2 via 2M SAS cable
* array4 in U18/19, connected to array 3 via 2M SAS cable
* array5 in U27/28, connected to furud's second SAS port via 4M SAS cable
* array6 in U29/30, connected to array5 via 2M SAS cable
* array7 in U31/32, connected to array6 via 2M SAS cable
[] - once all the arrays are attached, rebooting into the raid bios should allow the appending of all the new disks/shelves into the existing raid array. (This step may require a different raid setup, as #robh isn't certain if furud was using raid10 or something else.) Ideally, no data is lost, and the lvm within that raid array can simply be grown to accommodate the new capacity.
