To be able to test a critical piece of the service - subscribtions to kafka and receiving messages from it, we need to have a running kafka instance in the CI. Our current jenkins infrastructure is not able to install kafka while travis is capable of it. If we move the primary repo of the trending service to github and remove Jenkins rules for gerrit repo we'd be able to write integration tests examining the kafka part of the service.
