The availability of parameterized webpages in general is a strong argument in support of parameterized links.
The availability of parameterized transclusion is an especially strong argument. It's a glaring inconsistency of MediaWiki that parameterized templates is available, but not parameterized links.
Extension:UrlGetParameters provides a workaround, but there are problems with that:
- only works "a" tag HTML links, not wikitext square bracket links, so it's inconsistent with MW standard linking.
- doesn't work at all with #REDIRECT.
- This, one example use case is #REDIRECT with parameters.
```
#REDIRECT [[Fruit|Apples]]
```
- Another is linking from one wikii page to another with, naturally, parameters.
- Another is an alternative to transclusion,, where you want to display the parameterized page, rather than transclude it.
