Including Apple Maps in our app is not, at all, a good thing.
I must strongly urge you guys to change that. We can't in good concision of Wikipedia's mission in mind, ship an app (a software) which incorporates non-free materials (such as the maps), and call the app freely licensed. It's ok to use fair use image in articles, but using Apple Maps is not fair use.
I can understand linking to Apple Mpas, or open Apple Maps outside of the WIkipedia app using links to it, but inclding their map in out app is not ok. We did not allow Google Maps be accessible from Wikipedia's desktop articles, since it is non-free and should not be used.
I can't express this in more clearer or stronger terms, we can not (and should not) incorporate proprietary software, which are fully copyright-reserved, into our app. Who thought this was a good idea?
It is **legal** for us to use it (hence their "legal link" at the bottom of the map), but it still are **not freely licened**, and is **against our mission and beliefs**. Please, Remove this and use another freely licensed map. (/me grumbles about lack of mission awareness amongt people...)
