The [[ https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Growth/Personalized_first_day/Newcomer_homepage | newcomer homepage ]] is a feature to help newcomers get oriented when they first create their account, so they can figure out how to start editing quickly. One component of the homepage is the [[ https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T216217 | impact module ]], which shows newcomers how many pageviews the pages get they have edited, which is meant to motivate them about continuing to contribute.
Newcomers may be confused about where the numbers come from and what the difference is between edits to articles, and edits to other kinds of pages. We could add tooltips to the module to explain these things to the newcomer.
