It happened on my device (Pixel 2 XL - Android 8.0) , Android 7.1 emulator and Android 6.0 emulator.
Tested on my old device (Android 4.4) and works well.
If we reset the `Open by default` in the `App Info`, and then we can resolve the issue.
==Steps to reproduce
1. Use a web browser to open a wikipedia link, when it shows a dialog for choosing app to open, please select the Wikipedia App and clicks on `always`
2. Back to the Wikipedia app, and clicks on the `Log in to Wikipedia`
3. On the login page, clicks on `Forgot your password?`

Happens on Nexus 5 (6.0.1):
Tapping on the links in the onboarding brings up an app selection bottom sheet every time (which does not appear on any other places where users are taken to a browser link)
