This in combination with VisualEditor sometimes leads to tel:// links being inserted by VisualEditor as it converts the HTML document back to wikitext. As tel:// links are supported and allowed in wikitext and because the html links have no distinguishing features they are currently not filtered out because they might be legitimate content.. A fix was attempted earlier by disallowing this automatic detection in {T256758} but it seems that this hint does not transfer to the visual editor documents we are handling.
