We should probably either use the [[Manual:Hooks/EditPage::showEditForm:initial|EditPage::showEditForm:initial]] hook to add and persist a hidden input field based on the URL parameter, or use the help panel JS code to inject it; and then detect it when an edit is saved, similar to how we do it for VE.
