I had this issue: sometimes, editing a wlink, VE indicates a redlink, even if the page exists (see GIF http://i.imgur.com/wkDd9V9.gif). I don't know in which conditions this happens, but this time I was editing a disambiguation link and this happened. If I encounter this issue again I'll record it.
