The ERI features being added to RC Page will be added as a beta feature on [[ https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Objective_Revision_Evaluation_Service#Support_table | wikis for which the relevant two ORES tests are available ]]. On the selected wikis, the ORES feature will be broadened to reflect the fact that it now includes improved filtering. Parts of this task include:
There will be two basic methods for signing up for the beta feature:
- Formulate wording changes to reflect broader scope-- see final text at T149385# Opt in via the beta preferences page
- Consider whether# Opt in on the RC page.
=Opting in via the beta feature should be renamed.preferences page=
There are two elements to this workflow:
- Redesign thumbnail graphic to reflect new data-display designs# Implement a renamed, reworded and redesigned the beta feature option
# Show an a message on the RC page introducing the new features.
===Implement the revised beta page opt-in in preferences===
Essentially, the "new" beta is actually the old ORES opt in, but with a new title, description and graphic (and new features on RC page, if appropriateof course).
- This means that all the current ORES beta subscribers will continue as subscribers to the "new" beta feature.
- Make a plan for the RC Preferences page on ORES-enabled wikis, which includes an option to set ORES "sensitivity". [[ https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speciaal:Voorkeuren#mw-prefsection-rc | See example page on nl.wiki. ]]
Below find a screenshot of the current ORES beta (displayed on nlwiki)Only wikis that get the RC page improvements (T150715) will show the new beta name and language.

# Beta feature page information - On other wikis that have ORES, to whatever extent they do, ORES will continue to work as it does now, and the beta opt-in will continue as now.
- Find the new opt-in text at T149385, under "Beta preferences opt-in text" (the new feature name is "**New filters for edit review**.")
- The description will include a link to the Recent Changes page.
- It will also include a link to the ORES page here, https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Objective_Revision_Evaluation_Service
- The "Information" link (see design below) will go to the mediawiki page https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Edit_Review_Improvements/Filters_for_Special:Recent_Changes
{F4998111} - The "Discussion" link (see below) will go to the talk page for the same mediawiki page.
- A new graphical icon has been designed for the beta opt-in -- see a a screenshot below.
At the beta feature page, the feature will be presented as:{F4421407}
> **New filters for edit review**===Show a message on the RC page introducing the new features.===
When a user who has opted in to the beta feature gets to the __updated__ Recent Changes page for the first time, an introductory message is provided. This applies to: 1) new users who opt in, 2) users who previously opted in to the ORES beta, on the first time after beta release that they visit RC page, 3) everyone, should the beta become standard. This feature is particularly important for existing ORES users, who won't have explicitly seen information about the RC page features and may not connect the new filters with their previous ORES opt in.
- The user dismisses the message by clicking the "OK, got it" button.
> Filters and highlights potentially good and damaging edits. - This message should not be shown to that user after that. [@Pginer-WMF -- !!on just this wiki or any wiki? ORES machine learning algorithms help you review new edits atIs the latter even possible?!!]
- See a screenshot of the Recent Changes pintroductory message and more.below.

# Beta feature invitee==
**Beta feature invite**During the beta phase, the new Recent Changes filters can be enabled from the Recent Changes page itself. There are two elements to this feature:
- A popover opt-in invitation.
Initially, the new Recent Changes filters can be enabled from the beta features page. In order to make the feature more visible where it is more relevant, we can consider to provide a more prominent entry point from the current Recent Changes page:
- A popover confirmation.
===The popover opt-in invitation===
{F4827209}
- After the beta is implemented, when a user who has not already opted in to the beta visits the RC page for the first time, a popover will appear pointing to the "beta" link in the personal toolbar (see illustration).
-- If the beta link is not present in some wiki, the popover can point to the preferences link instead.
- Users can enable the beta feature in just one click.
- A "more details" option is provided to access the information about the beta feature (it should go to the same information page linked from the beta feature page).Learn more" link is provided that goes to https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Edit_Review_Improvements/Filters_for_Special:Recent_Changes
- Discarding the panel makes it no longer appear for the user.@Pginer-WMF !!please describe new features for "Don't show me this again" (or whatever) and option to dismiss, as discussed today. Also update the graphic with same.!!
After the user accepts, another popover will act as a confirmation and inform about the beta feature page to be the place to provide feedback (and disable the beta feature). In this case, the popover will vanish automatically after a few seconds.===The popover confirmation===

# Quick introduction (for those **not** getting into the feature through the invite)
When the user gets to the updated Recent Changes page for the first time (by manually activating the beta feature, or because the feature became default for everyone), an introductory message is provided the first time the user reaches the Recent changes page:

- The graphic on the left represents main concepts of the system like tags and highlights. the different pieces can appear at different times as part of an animation to better communicate the dynamic nature of the filter system.
- Short sentences communicate the man points: (a) combine filters to find the contributions you want to review, and (b) new powerful filters with new capabilities are available.
