**Problem: **
People havCurrently, when editors reference different styleparts of referencingthe same book, for example - putting the entire reference in the text and repeating it everywhere, they have to repeat all the information about the book. or putting the reference at the bottom for the reader to scroll to if they want to.This is cumbersome, Both have proslengthens wiki text, and cons.
**Notes:**
- This has already been worked on previously T100645it also obscures the fact that many references actually come from the same volume.
**Plan**
- This needs person/s with knowledge of mediawiki coreA proposol has been put up in {T151301} , as part of {T100645}. The idea is to create a new tag that can be used to extend a reference. E.g. The reference "A book, an author, cite extensiona publisher, parsoid applicationan ISBN" could be extended with "page 13"
- Someone from comcom- Let's make a probably needs to advise us on howtotype for that solution, to approach this since people have different ways of referencingsee what would be all the places affected.
**Ideas:**This is a screenshot of the proposed solution:
- We could pick up the solution from where it was left or figure out why it wasn't accepted/merged and try to re-work it?

**Notes:**
- This needs person/s with knowledge of mediawiki core, cite extension, parsoid application, and probably also visual editor, new wikitext editor, old wikitext editor, mobile
