["Wikipedia:Correct typos in one click"](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Correct_typos_in_one_click) is a project that helps editors correct typos across Wikipedia.
To complete the task please go through the editor side steps first, to understand the project objective, and then go through the admin side steps to actually expand the project to Wikibooks.
The process of the project in the editor side:
# Create account on English Wikipedia
# Add a line of code to your personal JavaScript code area, as instructed in project page
# Refresh
# Buttons of "replace", "type", "remove" will appear on the project page, and will allow you to correct suspect typos in one click.
# Fix or dismiss at least 5 words using the added buttons.
The process on the admin side:
# Create a list of misspellings of real words - my list is downloadable at https://typos.site/33mcorrections.rar (should be extracted after download)
# Download a copy of the whole wiki site, for the current task download "Articles, templates, media/file descriptions, and primary meta-pages." from https://dumps.wikimedia.org/enwikibooks/20191201/ (extract after download)
# Search for the list of misspelled words in the downloaded wiki, using this C code: https://github.com/Uziel302/websites-spell-checker/blob/master/enwiki%20autocorrect.c Create a new text file, copy the code to it and save it as autocorrect.c To compile C program you will need either access to UNIX command line (Mac/Linux/Chromebook machine) where you can run "gcc autocorrect.c -o autocorrect" from a directory where the C file is saved. To run the prgoram use "./autocorrect". If using Windows machine, use a development environment like CodeBlocks.
# Create a project page by searching "Wikibooks:Correct typos in one click" inside en.wikibooks.org and clicking the red link to create the page. Basic content you can copy from English Wikipedia project page.
# Copy the list of typos the C program produced into the project page.
# Treat 5 typos from the list as done on the editor side.
If you like fixing typos with the tool you can keep fixing on your free time. If you don't like, tell me what's missing....
