When making public watchlists, e.g.
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template:Recent_changes_in_Academic_Journals&oldid=781297231
You need to create a hard copy of links, e.g.
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:WikiProject_Academic_Journals/Lists_of_pages/Articles
So you can use
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:RecentChangesLinked/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Academic_Journals/Lists_of_pages/Articles
These lists are truly massive (especially for bigger projects), and a real pain to maintain. Projects already do plenty of WikiProject tagging, which easily lets us create public watchlists of discussions via categories (e.g. Category:WikiProject_Academic_Journal_articles), where we can then use
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:RecentChanges/Category:WikiProject_Academic_Journal_articles
What I'd like is that the option to include the associated pages to the recent changes. E.g. if a category contains [[Foobar]], that it would also show changes for [[Talk:Foobar]]. And if it contains [[Talk:Fooboar]], that it also show the change for [[Foobar]]. This way recent changes would (or could) function closer to how watchlists.
