**Steps to replicate the issue**:
# Use skin Vector 2022
# Go to any wiki page with images. Examples:
* https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Community_portal?useskin=vector-2022
* https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Example.jpg?useskin=vector-2022
* https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?oldid=1230284506&useskin=vector-2022
# Middle-click on an image with a link, e.g. the icon which leads to Wikipedia:Village pump (technical).
# Observe the clicked image
**What happens?**:
A blue rectangle (border around the hotspot) appears on top of the image. See screenshots below.
**What should have happened instead?**:
* No blue rectangle
* OR the blue rectangle doesn't intersect the image, and corresponds to the border of the image.
**Other information** (browser name/version, screenshots, etc.):
* Firefox is affected the worst (I'm using version 126.0.2)
* Chromium is also affected, but to a lesser extent – see the lynx screenshot below.
* Reproduced both logged in and logged out.
* Only Vector 2022 is affected. Monobook, Timeless, and Legacy Vector (2010) are not affected.
* Previously discussed at enwiki's Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Blue rectangle when clicking images
