As a researcher concerned with Wikipedia's multilingual nature, I want to explore how readable changelogs would work in multiple languages so that all users can benefit from improved clarity.
**Acceptance Criteria:**
- Identification of translation constraints for different languages (e.g. RTL, non-Latin scripts e.t.c.).
- Review of how Wikidata properties are displayed in non-English Wikipedia versions (e.g. RTL, non-Latin scripts, e.t.c.)
- A proposed solution for handling translation challenges
- Documentation on how translations are handled for the changelogs
**Checklist**
[] Review how Wikidata changelogs currently appear in non-English Wikipedia versions for some examples relevant to where we are likely to make changes
[] Identify translation limitations in rendering human-readable changelogs.
[] Investigate existing localization tools for Wikidata and Wikipedia. What community tools and gadgets exist?
[] Propose a strategy for ensuring translated summaries remain clear and accurate.
[] Discuss proposed strategy with pilot Wikipedias
[] Check natural language summaries (e.g. bots/api) if relevant - e.g. EditSum gadget
[] Check dates translations as well
[] Consider fallbacks for properties/descriptions, as well as translation keys
[] Consider list of common changelog formats, how translations are handled, and how any changes we would make could impact that
