One of our long-term objectives is for VisualEditor to be enabled by default on all (public) Wikimedia wikis; this is a tracker for that ambition. As of June 2015, it isn't likely to happen anytime soon because some projects differ substantially from the Wikipedia use case that VE has been primarily designed for. For example, Wiktionary pages tend to be composed almost entirely of templates.
