As I got more familiar with the Wikimedia movement and the way FOSS projects work, I noticed two things:
* Technical translation is a way of contribution less spoken of;
* FOSS projects usually have a hard time expressing in what areas they need help.
A blog post would serve the purpose of:
* promoting this way of contribution among people within the movement;
* being a point of introduction for those who aren't familiar with this aspect of Wikimedia projects and/or MediaWiki;
* a way of encouraging contributions and directing people to the proper resources regarding translations (as [Babylon/Translations](https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Meta:Babylon/Translations))
Tasks involved:
- [ ] Talk to the team responsible for the Wikimedia blog about the post idea
- [ ] Define a timeline/deadline
- [ ] Elect the most important points of technical translations (for instance, impact in wiki projects)
- [ ] Start a draft
- [ ] Submit draft for appraisal
And, hopefully,
- [ ] Getting it published
