We have few places where Python 2.6.x is mentioned as supported (see e.g.: [[ https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Pywikibot/Overview | 1 ]], [[ https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/diffusion/PWBC/browse/master/.travis.yml;846d82c57494911baa9aaf124e6dd106ecad6641$170 | 2 ]]).
Meanwhile in few other places it's not (see e.g. [[ https://pypi.python.org/pypi/pywikibot | PyPI ]]).
It also worth mentioning that [[ https://docs.python.org/devguide/index.html#branchstatus | Python 2.6 is not supported by PSF since 2013-10-29 ]]. And few days ago [[ https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/rPWBC431e72083ac18aa8bdafebd2ebded363102fdad3 | incopatible change ]] landed in our master, causing our Travis build to fail (see e.g.: [[ https://travis-ci.org/wikimedia/pywikibot-core/jobs/188739964#L1102 | 3 ]]).
It would be great to discuss this issue and decide if we want still to support 2.6 or not.
I'm for abandoning it.
