**Problem:** When users mention/ping people, those people are not always informed. This can have several reasons:
- There is a limit to how many people you may mention at once. If you mention more than 20, it is treated as a mistake by the system and no mention is sent out
- Users might have written the user name wrong
- <other problems we don't know yet>
Currently, users don't get feedback whether their mentions have worked, so they need to check it manually on the mentioned' people's sites.
**Suggested Solution:** It was suggested in the wishlist to receive a notification, similar to "The article has been saved", saying "You have pinged the XX, YY, ZZ". Ideally, this message should also contain information about why people that should have received a notification did not receive one.
**Background:** This proposal received 22 points (#9) in the German Community Wishlist[1]
