Always allow "Open in new tab" context link.
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

It is utterly frustrating when you open your browsers context menu and occasionally you have an "Open in new tab" link there and occasionally you do not.

For instance, the link "Contributions" in the personal menu bar has it while the three links under it do not.
For instance, in the list of suggestions, the links to the "New Translation" pages no not have it, while the language version links next to them do have it.

Please make all links behave equal.

I very much agree that links should behave as consistently as possible, and that browsers' default behaviors must not be broken. It's a really important principle for me in general.

However, I cannot reproduce the issue that you are describing. I can see the "Open in a new tab" when I right-click all the links that you mentioned.

I tried Firefox and Chrome on Mac. Which browser are you using and on which operating system?

Also, can you please send a screenshot that shows that this option doesn't appear?

Thanks.

No, I am sorry,

On my system (WIN7, Mozilla Firefox of three weeks ago) context menus disappear when you make screenshots. I had tried it already. But believe me, the choice is not there, as described. If you insist, I can try to make a photograph :-( but submitting ones is quite complicated and laborious.

I believe you :)

Do you mean "Contributions", "Translations" and "Uploaded media"? I can right-click them, and I can see that they have proper HTML <a> syntax with href, and they should be right-clickable. Or maybe I am misunderstanding something?

OK, I can reproduce this, and I reported it separately: T138196.

Yes, I mean the three links in the center of this screen shot.

This works.
