Also, registering a domain costs money - but @Dendelele is tied to a non-(WMF) CentralAuth account that doesn't seem to have a WMF user account disclaimer either.

Hello. My name is Bethany and I work in the WMF Design Strategy department. I am working with OIT to make my account compliant so that I can make such requests. Sorry for the confusion.

The domain registration is authorized by Margeigh Novotny, WMF Sr. Director of Product Design; it is not a public discussion. The url design.wikimedia.org/strategy/wikipersonas.html is currently 404. I am trying to get the domain name registered first. I will soon file a task for the landing page.

Hi @Dendelele In general if you want WMF to buy a domain name you would first contact @CRoslof at legal to actually buy it and then SRE to add it to DNS. But before doing that i strongly recommend contacting the SRE team and specifically the Traffic team about these plans. Adding a new domain name isn't a trivial thing. It requires consideration, code/config changes, buying/creating certificates etc. Also SEO people might want to be involved. Is there any place where people can read more about wikipersonas? Is there a certain date associated with this?

@Dendelele Please ask OIT to get you office wiki access and a contractor email address. They will help you with that. When it comes to getting the domain name you'll have to go through SRE and Legal though, OIT won't be able to add that. Best, Daniel
