Hello mentors @Nicolas_Raoul and @Madhurgupta10 I'm Sanjay from Amrita University. I'm very much interested to work on this project. I've set-up the project locally as instructed. As a first step, what should I do ? Can I directly start working on implementing the feature or should I fix some existing issues listed on the source repo ?

Please see https://github.com/commons-app/commons-app-documentation/blob/master/android/Students.md (how to apply section). The actual implementation of the proposed feature should happen during the program coding period.

Thank you. I'll start working on the issues then :)

@Nicolas_Raoul I'm facing a problem while test-running the app after making some changes. When I try to login with my Wikimedia account, it says that "The login to your Commons beta account is closed". Is there anything which I'm missing ?

Thanks Gabrielchl, perfectly accurate answer!

Techwizzie: Please create a new GitHub issue so that we can discuss your problem without bothering all Phabricator subscribers, thanks!

Hello everyone. I am a UG student at IIT Kharagpur. I already have experience with Android Development in IIT KGP's open source society and I would like to be a part of this project

Is this tread still open? because someone has written the problem is already bean solved.

I believe this topic is still open for GSoC applications. Where did you see mentions of this task being solved?

Sorry my bad I read first comment that it's been already uploaded meant
that someone solved the problem and has already uploaded the solution

Mentor here, I confirm that this GSoC is still open.

Everyone please feel free to apply as documented at https://github.com/commons-app/commons-app-documentation/blob/master/android/Students.md , no need to post here expect if you have specific questions about this GSoC. If you have specific questions about the custom pictures selector, please ask at https://github.com/commons-app/apps-android-commons/issues/175 . Thanks! :-)

GSoC 2021 is long over. Is there anything remaining in this task before it can be resolved? Please consider moving the leftovers to a new task and close this one. Thank you!

Nicolas_Raoul claimed this task.

Aditya implemented everything :-)
