After we complete T212129, we will be saving even fewer data in redis_sessions, which do not need to be replicated cross-DC. That being said, we can shard that data to redis_misc, same for the rdb* servers in InitialiseSettings.php.
A soft requirement is for us to have figured out alternatives for nutcracker T277183

Declining as it has been obsoleted. With T314453 done, the last consumer is gone from this. There are now no references left in wmf-config to the redis_sessions cluster which was previously known to MediaWiki as redis_local (nor any of its aliases: redis_master, redis_eqiad, redis_codfw).
