Image full screen preview lacks caption (description) on Wikipedia mobile website
Open, LowPublic

Description

There are images in Wikipedia articles. If I click and image a kind of "fullscrren gallery preview" opens as HTML overlay. There is an image description at the bottom of the page (above author) in classic website but the mobile website lacks the description. This sucks as for example the image caption of image gallery (<gallery>) goes to this field which is missing.

Solution: Put image caption to mobile website too.

Screens

image caption missing in mobile website

Event Timeline

For "landscape orientation" mobile website I think it would be wise to put the caption next to the author so that it does not affect the height of the image (image smaller because of less remaining height).

Its gonna be hard to satisfy everyone here, without filling the screen with data and no image and terrible performance :)
