Following the U4C Charter vote passing in February 2024, the next election will be to compose the U4C itself. This is a Phabricator task to publicly track this work. Voter information will be provided through Meta-Wiki.

Timeline

• February 26–April 22: Setup
  • Identify two scrutineers (typically, from current stewards)
  • Create a blank election on votewiki
  • Make the scrutineers election admins on votewiki
  • Patch voter tables into all wikis per per documentation on Wikitech
  • Import the list of eligible voters
  • Configure the election on votewiki
  • Import translations
  • Verify the list of election admins

• April 26 – May 9: Voting period
• April 9–: Tallying period
  • Scrutineers run necessary checks to strike votes submitted by socks or placed illegally
  • The Trust-and-Safety team or someone with shell access runs the tally via command line
  • Scrutineers confirm that the result posted on wiki matches the result from the tally
