Background

From DST's evaluating engagement with our partner AFB, we've been provided with a number of answers and tips to possible shortcomings/improvements on several of our components.

In the case of the Combobox, we were very uncertain about how to handle Space key for Combobox Menu.
While our current approach on Space key has been validated positively, there were two other smaller issues uncovered in testing:

keyboard handling is better on Windows but not on Mac

and

Additionally, a notable issue on Windows is that when using a screen reader in browse mode, the keyboard focus goes outside and behind the expanded dropdown combobox.

Goal

Make keyboard handling simple and consistent across platforms.

Acceptance criteria

• Clarify further with AFB what the best approach would be as the statement is a bit ambiguous to start with
  • Implement solution
