Description

In de.wikipedia, searching for *sporin does not match "Ciclosporin", but searching for C*sporin does.

We disabled leading wildcards on our cluster because of the load its expected to cause. The task you merged was to make a configuration setting to turn it on for non-WMF users so I've reopened it because its a much simpler problem. Turning it on at the foundation is a different matter - we'd need to do some degree of load testing and maybe some rate limiting. I'm keeping this issue open to reflect that work that would have to be done.
