I am looking at he.wiki Recent Changes page. With default filters but set to return 500 results from 30 days, I see delay of about 3-4 seconds. Which is to say virtually identical to what I see when I test the old UX.

Thank you. I thought this was something enabled once a user was given rollback rights. I do have that gadget enabled. Apologies for wasting your time.
Updated. Thanks.

While that is true, perhaps not allowing custom signatures without a user link, or as in this case, without anything at all, might be another approach to fix this particular edge case.
I see :) So basically the parser fails if the signature does not contain a user page link? That does kinda make sense. Thanks, Catrope.
Nope. And I just noticed that the same user pinged me again on the 7th; I did not see that either. I do not see either of these pings in the alerts drop-down atm. This has happened with at least one other user, IIRC.

Not sure if this is the right place to report issues, but the related articles list is also displayed at the bottom of "diff" pages which is quite useless (and distracting).

User error. I see now that there was an age-old template substitution actually being triggered in certain cases. Apologies for wasting your time.
I should probably clarify that the wikispecies-inline template is being inserted in pages that have nothing to do with Biology. (I mainly only edit pages on Indian History.) So I end up having to manually remove the change.
