@matmarex the original reporter (37.53.235.112) was pretty clear on their thoughts on upgrading, see here and here. Specifically, they don't see that as a solution to the problem: apparently having SVGs in <img> tags is against standard.

If it helps, it looks to my untrained eye that SVGs can work, but only in <object> tags.
