The objective of this task is to help more newcomers discover their homepage. When it is built, it should be part of the "homepage treatment", meaning that those newcomers that are in the treatment group of the [[ https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T217803 | homepage experiment ]] should see this addition, and the newcomers in the control group should not.

This could be a good moment to suggest that users visit their homepage. How exactly we do that can be open-ended -- we could do something as lightweight as adding a link to Special:ConfirmEmail to bring users to their homepage. Or we could do something more like redirecting users straight through to their homepage itself, with some kind of notice or toast on the homepage indicating that they had succeeded in confirming their email.
