Jan Dittrich/Simulo asking for NDA for data access
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

I would like to do quantitative research around knowledge equity, particularly around translations, together with @awight to continue some research we started thinking about while I was WMDE staff. I also talked to @MGerlach about these research ideas.

Permissions (I don't know what the "official names" for the respective permissions are):

Hej hej, please check https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Analytics/Data_access and file a ticket by using the template linked there - thanks a lot!

@Aklapper I was confused for a moment, but I think this ticket as originally written might be correct. @Simulo needs two things, one is a new volunteer NDA on file, so there's no question about whether his previous NDA signed through WMDE still applies to new research.

For what it's worth here, I endorse his request and am looking forward to working with him on this project. I would like to share some data with Simulo, but since not all of it will be extracted from purely public sources, I asked him to sign a new NDA for maximum legitimacy.

He also might want to request analytics shell access using the link you sent, but that's a separate request (and doesn't block our collaboration). A current NDA is a prerequisite for direct analytics data access, anyway (1):

Note that this access has similar requirements to shell access: you will need to either be a Wikimedia Foundation employee or have a signed volunteer NDA.

@awight: Please see my previous comment, check the link, and add required information plus the correct project tag. Thanks a lot!

Declining as nobody replies. :(

Hi! There are discussions happening in email but no news to report, yet. Thanks!

@awight: Hi, please set a correct project tag. See previous comments. Thanks.
