Donor Relations noticed that some donors from China were receiving our Thank You email template in Traditional Chinese instead of Simplified Chinese (Zendesk Tickets: #1219191, #1155695).

We do have the Thank you email template in Traditional, we do not have it in Simplified Chinese. The template in “Chinese (Taiwan)“ is not meant for donors with language preference “Chinese (China)” (See template list here).

After checking records in Civi for donations made this quarter by donors with language preference Chinese (China), I can see that all those donors are indeed receiving the template in Chinese (Taiwan).

To summarise:
What we expect to happen: We don't have a template in Chinese (China). Donors with language preference “Chinese (China)” should receive the “Standard” Thank You template.
What is actually happening: donors with language preference “Chinese (China)” are receiving the Thank You template in “Chinese (Taiwan)“. Those are not the same language: Chinese (China) is simplified Chinese, Chinese (Taiwan) is traditional Chinese.
