I think I just stumbled on this here, https://www.mediawiki.org/w/index.php?title=Topic:Woh7rhuiccr42fma&action=history, where I tried to ping @Dzahn manually (as opposed to using the @ mention feature) but I don't even know if the ping worked. Clicking on the red link leads to https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/User:DZahn_(WMF)%3Faction%3Dedit%26redlink%3D1 .

I have never used a "User:DZahn (WMF)" account on wikis.

What was the actual ping about though?

What was the actual ping about though?

(https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Topic:Woh7rhuiccr42fma - nothing to do with this task FWIW.)

I see. Yea, eh, I don't think you have to be concerned. There isn't going to be any action item or obvious change to users just because we switch upstream repos for Phab. And if we notice any we would sure point them out. Normal procedure will be to do something like send a mail on wikitech-l, but we don't need a separate Phabricator ticket for that. Do you have any more specific concerns? I might be missing something here.

Semi-relatedly we have been working on getting users off of the repository part of Phabricator (Diffusion, NOT the tickets/maniphest). I did this by direct email to the users I could see in the web UI, so that wasn't a list mail to all.

but I don't even know if the ping worked

Pings work even though the redlink is mangled. I confirmed this earlier today.
