Is it possible to move no.wikinews to either scan.wikinews, skan.wikinews or skandinavisk.wikinews? (Whatever choice you like best)? The preparations have already begun on no.wikinews, and we already have a Danish article there and several help/welcome pages in all the Scandinavian languages. Could you also set up redirects from no, nb, nn and da?

Do you mean moving your subdomain? Subdomains are assigned as per the ISO 639 codes. Wikis aren't moved from sub-domain to sub-domain unless the ISO code changes, which is very unlikley. Sorry.

With all due respect, the logic of that statement is flawed. There IS no subdomain for Scandinavian. The parallel situation is not a language which has an old and unchanged ISO code, but a language which has not been given one yet at all in ISO. That the sub-divisions have their own (variable) codes does not have any bearing on that question -- compare Serbocroatian vs. Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian.

Wikis must go through the process of approval described by
[[m:Meta:Language proposal policy]], even if they were proposed before the policy was implemented. Unfortunately, Scandinavian does not yet meet some of the requirements in that policy (in particular, it has no ISO 639 code).

The new approval process was implemented by the language subcommittee to prevent problems such as political repression by out-voting, attempts to falsify votes by creating many accounts per person, empty wikis that even today attract vandalism, spam, and bias, the inactivity of the original supporters, takeover of a small wiki by another language group or a group of friends, and so forth. The language subcommittee was formed to prevent these problem in all future wikis, including those proposed but not created before the subcommittee was created. Thus far, no approved wiki has had such issues.
