I see two usages of a Function like this:
First wikis like http://de.wikisource.org/ were the users have work copies in the usernamespace is the letter B with the german configuration or the letter U in the english configuration full with Userpages:
http://de.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Kategorie:Werke&from=B

An other usage are wikis with "many specific" namespaces like http:/de.wikversity.org:
http://de.wikiversity.org/wiki/Kategorie:Fachbereich:Informatik

What I'd like to have is something like

Main Namespace

• [[Hello]]
• [[Test]]

User Namespace

• [[User:Test/Sandbox|Test/Sandbox]]
• [[User:Test/Sandbox|Test/Sandbox]]

Project Namespace

• [[Project:About|About]]
• [[Project:Start|Start]]

Or checkboxes, a dropdown list or something like which allow to hide spefic namespaces. If you choice that solution, then it's also usefull when a magicword exist with that the default value can be configured.

It's not important, but I think it's a nice to have for many wikis.
