New variable {{SECTIONNAME}}, analogous to {{PAGENAME}}
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Idea: a new variable {{SECTIONNAME}}, analogous to {{PAGENAME}}:

Instead of

===L-alpha carbo bromocide delta tocaporal===
'''L-alpha carbo bromocide delta tocaporal''' can be divided into two groups:
# Glutenose-positive L-alpha carbo bromocide delta tocaporal
# Glutenose-negative L-alpha carbo bromocide delta tocaporal

One need merely write

===L-alpha carbo bromocide delta tocaporal===
'''{{SECTIONNAME}}''' can be divided into two groups:
# Glutenose-positive {{SECTIONNAME}}
# Glutenose-negative {{SECTIONNAME}}

OK, I go only as far as broaching the above idea, the details I leave
up to you guys. Same for the hard work of implementing it, as I'm off
to find a new bug. Some people are coders, some people are just "idea
people", each has their place.

I suppose keeping track of the current section's name is probably done
much differently than the current page name, therefore perhaps too
much trouble (sure hate to bloat your parser more). If not, then
ideally {{SECTIONNAME}} should end up in
"Help:Variables - discusses default variables built into the core MediaWiki package".

We observe my brilliant {{SECTIONNAME}} proposal above is different
than Bug 1689, Bug 9653, Bug 7256, Bug 9242, Bug 9239, Bug 9240.
