If a property uses a custom type with many units, and you restrict it to display a single unit, and you use that unit when specifying its value in a page,

then it has a redundant tooltip showing the same information. This redundant tooltip appears in text and inline queries.

This is a regression from SMW 0.7. SMW 0.7 would not show the tooltip if there was only one display unit (the "Main display unit") and the property used it.
