Open the app to the explore tab
Scroll to in the news or top read
Close the app
Open the app

Expected results

Images in in the news or top read remain visible

Actual results

Some of the images disappear

Tested on iPhone 6S (iOS 10.0.1), and Wikipedia app 5.3.0 (981).
As shown in the attached video the Top Read images are replaced with placeholders for a brief time (if this is what was meant by images disappearing).

Brief placeholders is fine, the bug was with images not appearing at all.
