When creating a redirect page it does not match Capital letter words to lOWER case pages
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Author: rtg.roy

Description:
I have redirected [[definitely]] and [[definitly]] to [[definite]]. When entering the redirect I entered "Denfinite" not "definite" and it would not redirect to the definite page (wow is this a mouthfull or what). I believe on most wikis this is automatically read as the same thing hence report.

P.S. When I entered keywords on this bug form (related to the bug) the next page said "redirect is not a valid keywords" and wiped all the stuff I just wrote.

just to clarify I have only found this bug on simple.wiktionary (and havent checked anywhere else... do not believe it will show up so much anywhere else anyway as encyclopedias are capital letters by default)

Most wiktionaries are case sensitive. This is not a bug, this is a feature. E.g. in German, "Weg" and "weg" are different words with different meanings.

I think it's another side of this RESOLVED WONTFIX bug. Don't know what to add: https://twitter.com/stasielvova/status/340506019316781056
