WikiMedia doesn't work with trailing slash
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

WikiMedia doesn't work with trailing slash. If user opens URL with trailing slash, the page will not be found. WikiMedia should make 301 redirection from URL with trailing slash to URL without trailing slash.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonder_Stories (without trailing slash). The page will be found.
  2. Open https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonder_Stories/ (with trailing slash). The page will not be found. Instead, user should be redirected to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonder_Stories (without trailing slash).

Event Timeline

Hi @filips123, thanks for taking the time to report this and welcome to Phabricator.
This seems to be the same problem as described in T14703: Page titles could cause problems for some HTML editors that add a trailing slash to URLs so I am merging this task into T14703.

@Aklapper T14703 is very old and has no new messages for a long time. Is any update on that?

No, as nobody has been working on it.
