Description:
When short URLs have not been configured on a wiki (ie http://www.wiki.com/wiki/Foo != http://www.wiki.com/w/index.php?title=Foo) then the select-how-many-entries-to-return form produced by this function adds the correct limit to the URL, but redirects to the wiki main page (strips the title parameter I believe). Enabling short urls per [[mw:Short URL/wiki/Page title -- no root access]] resolves the issue.
