Deletion cleanup work not correctly applied for pages deleted to make way for moves
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Normally, when a page is deleted, all of its corresponding recentchanges entries are deleted. But this does not seem to be the case when a page is deleted to make way for a move, whether the deletion is a normal "deleted page Target" entry or a special "deleted redirect Target by overwriting" entry for a move over redirect, as the "related changes" pages for Category:Candidates for history merging and Category:Candidates for uncontroversial speedy deletion on Wikipedia show. The same examples also show that pages deleted to make way for moves are not correctly removed from their corresponding categories. We need to make the "LinksDeletionUpdate" class work correctly when an existing page is deleted to make way for a move.

Looking at this, it seems that the creation of the redirect is correctly removed from the recentchanges table. Hence, I am now closing this task as resolved.
