When one clicks on Player options, which should be actually Video options, it extends the view to the left while it should just adjust to the window size or be thinner.

Unfortunately the same issue might crop up with the "subtitle" menu.. but it can be fixed.. ( by having the menu go more to the right bellow for players that don't support overlays and .. just have the subtitle menu go "ontop" of the video for players that do support overlays.
