Description

User Gleeanon409 reported (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Resource_Exchange/Resource_Request/Archive_92#NYT_paywalled) an issue with ProQuest access not working correctly on mobile. Further information was provided at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Samwalton9_(WMF)#ProQuest_issue.

The error is occurring on an iPhone 6, and the user sees the error message "too many HTTP redirects; NSURLErrorDomain; Try again".

We haven't yet been able to reproduce this error.

Acceptance criteria

  • Understand who is affected by this issue - is this issue specific to a particular device or browser?
  • Understand how to reproduce the error
  • Identify the root cause of the error

I'm unable to reproduce this error on Chrome, Android 9.
