Sure. This indeed an email related to a watch list notification. What do you mean by source? Just the full text?

Just the full text?
On the client mail you are using, there is normally a way to view the source email with all headers (metainformation) and html/text source. For example, on GMail it shows by clicking the 3 dots and select "Show original". Then please paste it at: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/paste/edit/form/14/ and link it here. That will show what is exactly happening.
You can paste it here, just put 3 ``` before and after the text to make a block of text, so it doesn't lose formatting. :-)
Or paste anywhere we can read it in text format (pastebin).

Thanks, that works and is very helpful. May I ask you what client / program / mobile app / website are you using for reading email? It may be email-client specific.
Ziggo email (https://www.ziggo.nl/internet/ziggo-mail (In Dutch; also primarily Dutch based)), specifically the web version of it (https://mail.ziggo.nl/appsuite/)
Edit: quick check seems to indicate the same problem exists in its mobile app
I would have to check the relevant RFCs, but my first impression is that it could be a problem of your client's web (as I cannot reproduce it with other clients), but I am not 100% sure. My Gut tells me that ) should not have to be encoded, or treated as special.
If it ends up being like that, other than reporting it to your provider, you could try setting your email notifications in HTML format, rather than Plain text as a workaround.
In the past I had problems with how plan text emails with URLs are interpreted by clients and they fixed it quickly.
It is true that other plain text notifications (e.g. thanks) < > is used for plain text link (which may fix the isssue for you). I will let the editing team and people in charge of notification see if that is a reasonable improvement for this kind of email notifications.
@Asartea: This is due to a decision that your email client takes how to render emails that you received. See T40265. I'm going to mark this as a duplicate.
For future reference, please always follow https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/How_to_report_a_bug - thanks!
