Unable to use "YouTube nocookie" (https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/) in blog Diff
Open, Stalled, Needs TriagePublic

Description

I noticed that I am no able to embed this YouTube video using the official YouTube nocookie version:

https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/PzGAGfSObOw?feature=oembed

I am no able to do it using the "embed" block and I'm also not able to embed it using a simple HTML block with an iframe. About the iframe, I see it in the backend but I'm not able to see it on the frontend.

I think that the Blog Diff should allow users to embed this domain. I also think that this should be the default behavior (but this will be another Task I suppose).

If you want to try to work on this, you can start from this post:

This should be handled upstream in WordPress core. There is a task for it in their community and input there is welcome: https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/44610

In the interim, if authors want to make things a little more privacy minded, they can use the HTML block and embed the no-cookie version of a video.

P.S. in the mentioned Track discussion I see a WordPress developer suggesting this privacy-friendlier YouTube plugin, which adopts the "nocookie" domain:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/no-cookies-for-youtube/

P.P.S. its source code consists in less than 100 lines of code (!). Pretty much maintainable, also for WordPress VIP.

https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/no-cookies-for-youtube/trunk/no-cookies-for-youtube.php

If it's a 1-click install, I would recommend to evaluate it.

Google does not necessarily need to super-easily know the identity of who visit Diff-blog :3
