Maximum size reached for my PhD thesis on fr.wikiversity
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

Hi,

I'm wonder if pages collecting all chapters of my PhD thesis doesn't reach the maximum size authorized ($wgMaxArticleSize) ?

I say that because last chapters aren't displaying.

Here are the links to the two pages in question :

https://fr.wikiversity.org/wiki/Recherche:Imagine_un_monde
https://fr.wikiversity.org/wiki/Recherche:Imagine_un_monde/Lionel_Scheepmans

I use the first page for using Ctrl F in all my thesis and the other for printing it.

Is someone can help me to fix this issue ?

Hi, indeed, looking at the HTML source of https://fr.wikiversity.org/wiki/Recherche:Imagine_un_monde it shows Post‐expand include size: 2097152/2097152 bytes, and Wikimedia wikis use the default value for $wgMaxArticleSize. So this is expected behavior and not a bug.
The solution is to reduce the size of the page content.

Thanks @Aklapper , if it's not a bug than it could be a request.

On Wikisource, and if I compare pages with my Firefox page information tool, I see that the pages https://fr.m.wikisource.org/wiki/Le_Capital/Texte_entier is bigger than my PdD page (762,49 Ko 780 788 octets / 282,41 Ko 289 183 octets). Is that possible that the $wgMaxArticleSize for Wikisource is different from Wikiversity ?

If yes, is that possible to increase the $wgMaxArticleSize on fr.wikiversity ?

All the best for 2021 !

That wikisource page is 1,994,092 bytes (when previewing and then looking Post-expand include size on Parser profiling data) while the wikiversity page gets to the maximum 2,097,152 bytes. All Wikimedia wikis use the same value for $wgMaxArticleSize which is also the default on all MediaWiki installations.

Ok thanks @Majavah , is it possible to change this default value for a specific project ? Maybe @Aklapper is in a better position to reply to this request. Best,
