Feature summary (what you would like to be able to do and where):
- Providing new redirect syntax for the reason of redirection.
- Showing the reason as a hatnote only when a user visits the redirected page.
Use case(s) (list the steps that you performed to discover that problem, and describe the actual underlying problem which you want to solve. Do not describe only a solution):
On the Bible page on English Wikipedia, there are hatnotes that say:
"Biblical" redirects here. For the song by Biffy Clyro, see Biblical (song). For the song cycle by Antonín Dvořák, see Biblical Songs.
"The Holy Bible" redirects here. For the album by the Manic Street Preachers, see The Holy Bible (album).
The messages seem to be useful to users who directly search those words or try to visit those pages, but don't to other users and take away time and attention.
The reason why notifications should always be displayed is because of the lack of native features.
Benefits (why should this be implemented?):
Shorter hatnote and improvement of user experience.
